Naval Kindergarten & Little Angels School, Kalinga, came into existence in the early 1990s under the aegis of the National Education Society (NES), Delhi, to cater to the educational needs of naval personnel from four units: INS Kalinga, INS Karna, NAD, and NAI. This is a co-educational school built on the coastal lap of INS Kalinga amidst lush, green, tall, shady trees in a natural, pollution-free atmosphere, which is an important aspect of a healthy environment in today’s world.
The school has been progressively expanding under the aegis of NES and is administered by the School Management Committee. The commanding officer of INS Kalinga is the chairman of the governing body. NKG & LA School has three classes: BALVATIKA 1 (Nursery), BALVATIKA 2 (LKG), and BALVATIKA 3 (UKG), with a total strength of 92 children. There are six teaching and four non-teaching staff members. The school infrastructure includes well-equipped classrooms, a children’s park, an A.V. room, a library, and a spacious assembly area.
Naval Kindergarten, Kalinga, follows a child-oriented curriculum that is activity- and skill-based. Teachers are encouraged to attend workshops to enhance their skills by updating themselves with the latest techniques in teaching and learning. Numerous activities and competitions are continuously held in the school to encourage children to sharpen their talents and boost their confidence levels. This school continues to strive for the motto: “Imagine, Believe & Achieve.”
